eBay is ready to talk!

eBay is planning to purchase Skype, a VOIP service provider. Is eBay going to compete with Google and Microsoft? I don’t think so. I’m guessing eBay is trying to improve it infrastructure of communication between buyers and sellers. This channel may help sellers answer questions more efficiently and resolve product and shipping issues quicker.

It's not when you buy. It's when you sell!

It’s official. eBay offered total of 4.1 billion to acquire Skype. I think eBay overpay for this deal, but that’s what people said about Paypal. The difference between these two companies is that Paypal was able to contribute to eBay’s revenue immediately. The synergy of VOIP service is obvious to it’s auction site, but can it generate significant independent revenue from VOIP when current service offer is free to its users…
